May 8, 2021 is the 28th International Thalassemia Day. On this day of "Thalassaemia Children", with the theme of "Keep acting for eliminate thalalssemia", the "hina thalassemia treatment bluebook publishing ceremony&international thalalssemia treatment forum" co-organized by Beijing AngelMom Charity Foundation, Beijing Normal University China Philanthropy Research Institute and The International Thalassaemia Federation (TIF) was held in Beijing. About 100 medical experts in hematology, representatives of parents of children with thalassemia and representatives of enterprises from all over China attended the conference, as well as international experts in the field of thalassemia prevention and treatment, representatives of thalassemia prevention and treatment experts and institutions from Thailand, India, Indonesia, UAE and Malaysia (online participation). Mr.Zaixi Xi, CEO of BRL Medicine Inc. and Dr. Wu Yuxuan, Vice President of R&D, were invited to attend the conference as representatives of the outstanding thalassemia prevention and treatment enterprises in China.

At the same time, today, Beijing AngelMom initiated the establishment of the "Asian Institute of Public Welfare Mediterranean Prevention and Research Center", which aims to carry out organized and effective prevention and treatment work for children suffering from thalassemia nationwide, and the prevention and treatment center will provide comprehensive care for children from birth prevention, genetic testing, blood and iron transfusion and bone marrow transplantation.
